Everyone is seeking peace it is just that they can't remember where to look.
We go about seeking through buying, achieving, striving, relationships, careers and accumulating more and more. We get a sense of satisfaction or contentment from these things but the feeling is fleeting and before you know it you are seeking to fill that yearning again. Peace is your natural state. It is you already. Being still and allowing is all you need do to find it. The problem most of us find in being still is that we feel the "other stuff", the feelings we don't want to feel. Feelings that are uncomfortable so our trained response is to turn away from them and distract ourselves with outward things. There is such beauty is being. Once you are there, you realise the mind is trouble and you stop throwing stones at troubles door. You stop participating in that which you are not. So much fear is based on not having, not doing and not being enough. When you stop participating in the madness of the ever revolving thought mind, you can see clearly. You natural state is effortless and expansive, so much more than the fleeting and changing nature of the mind. Many people say to me they feel bored if they are not doing. What is boredom? Is it not just another thought accompanied by a feeling of restlessness and unease? What is beyond the boredom? Boredom is of the mind. I cannot remember the last time I felt "bored" as whether there is movement and participation in outwardly doing or sitting in being, there is always Self, Being. There is so much more to this life than the minds whirling and the outward achieving to fulfil something that is missing in us. Take a moment to look. Don't turn away from what you find. Be with it as it is. Allow what is happening to happen and be present with it. Watch it, examine it. Be REAL with yourself, as real as you can be in this moment.
