There are two main beliefs running here on earth.
One is the separation Paradigm. This uses fear and separation as its core beliefs and creates disharmony, non acceptance, resistance and fear.
The other is the unified paradigm which recognises that we are all one unified consciousness. This means all who are living in this belief are living in unity, peacefully and with what is.
Most of mankind operates in the separation paradigm yet All of nature, including every single creature, the spiritual realm and a few humans operate in the unified paradigm.
Why is mankind the one to be different?
Most of mankind isn't even aware that they are operating on a false belief and this belief of being separate creates fear. Look where that has taken the species over the centuries.
Most of mankind has taken someone else's belief, a man made belief based of fear and made it their own belief and blindly defended it, often to the death! Why has mankind not stopped to see what the foundations of their beliefs are based on?
Nature and the spiritual realm work in alignment with what is. Knowing they are not separate from anything else means they operate harmoniously with all that is.
Nature recognises that they are all in essence the same energy, vibrating at different rates. The same oneness, despite the form it appears to be in.
An example my teacher once told me was in regards to the ocean.
Imagine the ocean.
If you took a container and put the water from the ocean in it, is it not still the ocean? Does it become something else? It still has all the properties of the ocean, just in a different form.
So too we are all from one source, one awareness, vibrating differently and taking different forms because of this but our essence is still oneness.
We are still the one, same fundamental energy source, despite our form.
We are still connected and this can be felt and experienced through self inquiry and meditation, by being present, by being with what is rather than being consumed with thought.
One of the main objections that I hear when I discuss this is that we are more evolved than animals and plants as we have the capacity to think. What I find exceptional is that we take the capacity to think as something that automatically brings us something better. Does it? Is thought working for you in your life? Are you in control of what you think? Do you always feel in alignment with what is, with what serves you best? Do your thoughts bring peace and harmony and the betterment of all?
I think the answer is obvious by the state of the world. I see insanity everywhere, it has just become so normal that no one really questions it any more as it seems more normal than not.
I see insanity in how most of us function, in how must of us think, in how most governments and institutions operate, in what we as humans place our priorities and base our decisions on, in how we operate as a society, countries and on a global scale.
We operate from short term view based on separation. Of course it doesn't work because we are basing our decisions on an illusionary foundation.
A foundation that has been accepted but not explored.
If we live under the paradigm or set of beliefs that we are all separate, that he is different to me, then the world we live in seems fearful. Things outside of myself can hurt me, they can happen to me.
If we live under the paradigm or belief that we are all one, then fear doesn't make sense. It ceases to control you and underlie your decisions and experiences of the moment. There is no need for fear as we realise that what we are living in is in fact one energy, one awareness.
It does not mean that you don't take common sense precautions but once we have taken these precautions most of us stress and worry anyway. Precautions are taken to minimise risk and fear and yet they don't seem to have that effect. If you lock the door at night, make your house secure, how many people till lay awake fearful of an intruder or jump at noises in the dark?
Fear seems real because we have based our foundations on an illusion of separation.
With self inquiry, you will come to see that you are the very intelligence. the very thing you are looking for, it is there and has been all along. You have just forgotten or looked in the wrong place.
When we allow ourselves to turn towards what we are feeling in any moment, rather than running away, pretending its not there, avoiding it or burying it, we open the gateway to NOW. To being with what is.
Breath into now, be with what is, what ever you are feeling is the gateway into now.
The gateway into Being.
Most of us have said, "its ok, I have it under control," at some point in our lives.
The truth is, we have never had control.
We have the illusion of control when things go the way we think they should and when they don't, we say we have "lost" control. Then we long for some sort of state that is beyond "all this", a state where we imagine we'll have control again.
Most of us seek a feeling of peace through control. We try and control things so we feel safe. When things are "going our way" we feel in control, which brings people the illusion of feeling peaceful. Actually, under all this is a torrent of fear and non acceptance. We are just used to the feeling and so we don't really notice it, or take the time to notice it. Self Enquiry is such a powerful tool to find these emotions, beliefs, motivations behind our behaviours etc that we have become blind to.
How much suffering does it bring when we feel "out of control" or that "things" are out of control? The most common term I hear is that it gives people the feeling of overwhelm.
Through much inquiry, I found that my overwhelm was not due to issues of control but really about arguing about what was actually happening. In essence, arguing with reality. If I felt in control, then I felt safe, I had things covered. Right?
When I took the time to question what I believed, what my mind was telling me was happening and enquire if it was true or not, I found that it wasn't true. I realised that by not listening to my mind, I stopped feeling all the feelings of overwhelm and loosing control and began to feel freedom. This feeling of freedom kept growing if I kept out of my mind. The more I began to question whether my thoughts were true or not...the deeper the resulting joy was. This joy stays if you keep away from your unhealthy thinking and need for control.
Here is the interesting thing, when we start to use self enquiry, when you question what you believe, you eventually come to see that you are the very enlightenment you are seeking all along. How fantastic is that? Its you! It is under all the misgivings and emotional baggage etc that we put over ourselves. When you come to love what is and I mean all of it, then you cease to be separate. While you view the world and all that are in it as separate from you, it is experienced as frightening, dangerous, something to keep at a distance. Once you remove the separation, fear ceases to operate and love takes its place and all is greeted as it comes, knowing that it is you in many different forms.
You may actually be able to see that you don't really have to control things, or make a strict plan a future etc again, that what appears in this moment is all that you have. The beauty in that is as soon as you are in it, it has gone too.
Oh... I hear the fear that statement brings... but believe me, if you start the journey, if you start to do the "work", the enquiry, the getting out of your mind and just being, you will find out for yourself.
None of this means you lay down and give up. I have had people say to me, "what is the point if I can't make plans, if I can't decide things?' That is not what it is about. Make plans, go for it but when they change, go with what is. Make a decision, but if things change, go with it. In order to stay with what is, you many need to change your plans, alter your path, change your decision if that is what is presented to you.
Many people argue that this is not having boundaries and being irresponsible and unreliable. I hear fear talking. I hear fear saying, that sounds dangerous, I won't have control, what if something happens that I don't like? I am more comfortable with the normal response, Fight, complain, resist what is happening. Refuse to look at alternatives, resist reality?
What will happen? Why don't you try going with what is actually happening rather than fighting what is happening for what you think should be happening? Give it a go, see if you find freedom in accepting things as they are and altering your actions in alignment. It will be interesting to see if that feels any different for you.
So try self enquiry. See where it is that you fight to have control over something you don't. See where you are at war with what is and start to accept that you are in an ever changing creation, without limits. Its truly liberating, its joyful to be in alignment with what is.
Drop the resistance and breath into now.
